Oldham Street Arrest Prevents Car Theft |

Officers PC Barnwell and PC Hunt have today been on active foot patrol in efforts to tackle issues regarding anti-social activity / theft / drug use of Oldham Street due to concerns raised over the last several week regarding issues in the area.
Whilst on foot patrol both officers have located a male acting suspiciously in possession of a rucksack, prompting both officers to quickly react and detain the suspect involved after following him into a nearby car park in the Northern Quarter.
Efforts have paid of, when upon detaining the offender he has been found in possession of equipment linked to car thefts in the city, prompting PC Barnwell to arrest the suspect involved after linking him to issues around William Fairburne Way in the Northern Quarter area.
This individual now remains in custody where he awaits questioning and potential charge for the offence, ensuring the protection of vehicles and prevention of vehicle thefts in the city during the Christmas period in the Oldham Street and Northern Quarter area as a whole. | ||
